In Ash Class, we have time to play, explore and make our minds and bodies strong, healthy and ready to learn. We listen to and create stories, try new things, experiment, and use our senses to learn about the world. We learn what it means to treat people with love and respect; persevere and have faith when we find things difficult; and help each other through acts of service.

The children develop their reading and writing skills with the help of Anima Phonics. They learn maths through exploring practical problems and short adult-led sessions from Power Maths. In addition to maths, reading and writing, the children have weekly lessons in R.E., music, computing, P.E., Spanish and PSHE. There is more information about these subjects available on the Curriculum pages.
Reading homework (a book and activities matching the children’s stage in phonics) is given out on Fridays. Books are returned on Tuesdays.
