St Mary's School

We offer a variety of support for our children with SEND depending on their needs. Class teachers are responsible for the progress and development of their SEND children throughout the year and regularly meet with parents to discuss their child’s targets and progress over the year.

Support at St Mary’s can consist of the teacher making reasonable adjustments in the class to support a child’s learning, interventions in the day led by one of our trained Teaching Assistants (TAs) or teachers, individual interventions led by our TAs or teachers, or dedicated one to one support.

At St Mary’s, we cater for and support children who fall under the four ‘Areas of Need’:

  • Communication and Interaction
  • Cognition and Learning
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health
  • Sensory and/or Physical Needs

At St Mary’s, we offer a variety of different interventions to support our SEND children. Interventions take place throughout the school week and are headed by our trained and skilled TAs, teachers or the SENDCO.
